The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and presenting sponsor SOMO Village invite you to the third annual Golden Spoke Awards Gala on September 12th at the SOMO Village Event Center. This event celebrates community members who’ve gone the extra mile to make cycling safer, easier, and more fun for all.
The following awards will be presented:
- Bike Champion of the Year, an individual who inspires and supports others in the community: Matt Fritzinger of Blue Tailed Skinks.
- Civic Bike Leaders of the Year, working overtime to make streets safer for folks on bikes: Dan Hennessey, Torina Wilson, and Alexander Oceguera with Santa Rosa Transportation and Public Works.
- Bike Friendly Business of the Year, which has taken steps toward making it easy for their employees and/or customers to go by bike: Mitote Food Park.
- Bike Infrastructure Project of the Year, such as bike lane, bike bridge, bike boulevard, bike box, bike parking, bike trail, etc. that improves safety & encourages more riders: SMART Multiuse Pathway gap closures.
- Lifetime Commitment Award: Christine Culver.
