Bike to Work Day 2017 A Success!

While most people were still asleep in the wee dawn hours of May 11, a team of dedicated volunteers dragged tables, chairs, tents canopies, swag bags, and breakfast treats to twenty-two locations throughout the county. Their efforts were rewarded as twelve hundred cyclists stopped by these Energizer Stations for a treat on their way to work or school. (We have no statistics regarding the number of pancakes, bagels, bananas, or breakfast burritos consumed.) While many are regular bike commuters, some were venturing forth for the first time. The award for most miles covered during the day goes to Nrupin Zaver, who cycled from his home in San Francisco to work at Medtronic in Santa Rosa! The day ended with after-work parties at Santa Rosa Community Market and MacArthur Place Hotel in Sonoma.

SCBC staff, board members, and station hosts all reported excellent conversations and lots of smiles! Many thanks to all who donated time, food, and funds to make this day a success!
