“The cyclist you pass on the road may be your child’s teacher, a neighbor, doctor, or your friendly neighborhood firefighter. Giving them three feet of space is not only the law, but the courteous thing to do!”
That’s the message promoted in the “Friends & Neighbors: Share the Road” video we released at the beginning of November. We partnered with our counterparts in Marin and Napa to create this 45-minute video, which was professionally produced by Culture Pop Films.
We posted the video on Facebook and gained over 20,000 views in a matter of days! In order to reach folks outside the cycling community, we’ve also purchased pre-movie ad time: the video will be viewed by movie-goers in five popular Sonoma County theaters throughout the month of November and is expected to receive over 167,000 views. The PSA will also be aired on local public television stations Petaluma Community Access and KRCB-TV.
Thanks to Bay Area Bicycle Law, Yuba Bikes, Santa Rosa Cycling Club, and Culture Pop Films for their financial support of this project.
