UPDATE 08/11/2020: The SCTA Board voted to keep GoSonoma on the ballot!
UPDATE 08/07/2020: A coalition of business groups has vowed to oppose any and all tax measures in November. The SCTA Board meets Monday August 10, and there is a chance they might decide to pull this measure from the ballot. If you want a chance to vote for increased bike funding in November, email the board by NOON MONDAY and tell them you support the GoSonoma Act!

We’ve been working on this one for months, and it’s now official! The Sonoma County Transportation Authority (SCTA) took their final vote to put an extension of our quarter cent local transportation sales tax on the November ballot.
The original Measure M was passed in 2004. 4% of the tax revenues were dedicated to bicycle & pedestrian projects, including
- Arnold Drive Bike Project
- Bodega Bay Trail
- Central Sonoma Valley Bikeway
- Copeland Creek Trail
- Foss Creek Trail
- Petaluma River Trail
- Santa Rosa Creek Trail
- SMART Multiuse Path
- Sonoma Schellville Bike Trail
- West County Trail
Measure M has also funded our Safe Routes to School program and Bike to Work Day activities.
The extension measure is called the GoSonoma Act. This version QUADRUPLES the amount of funding guaranteed to bicycling projects! In addition, other road improvement projects are required to take ALL users into account, including cyclists and pedestrians. It also doubles the amount of funding for pothole repair and public transit.
SCBC fully supports this measure.
