Heading Down the Road…

Goodbye photo

Five years ago, I was given the awesome privilege of becoming the Bike Coalition’s Executive Director. This has been the best job of my life but also the most demanding. The hours are long and often the boundary between work and personal life became blurred. That’s not necessarily a bad thing since it’s a job that makes the world a better place, but that level of intensity can only be sustained for so long and it’s time step back and let someone fresh take a pull at the front.

I’ll be ending my time as Executive Director at the end of June, but will continue to work on our programs and events as a volunteer. I’ll also be mentoring our next Executive Director as needed so we can continue to make Sonoma County the best place to ride a bike.

I’m completely humbled by the engagement of our staff, Board of Directors, members and volunteers. You are what make the Bike Coalition a powerful and effective voice for everyone who rides a bike in Sonoma County. We’ve had an amazing litany of achievements in the last five years and you can be sure that our Board will select a new Executive Director capable of continuing our success.

Thanks again to everyone for your support and engagement – it’s been a truly amazing five years. Hope to see you out on the road or trail soon!

Gary
