There are few safe and enjoyable routes for cyclists and pedestrians to cross Highway 101, and for many years the city of Santa Rosa has pursued the construction of a bridge near Santa Junior College.
Two possible locations have been proposed (see photo). Caltrans has recently released the environmental report for this project, and the public comment period ends July 24. There is some opposition to the project so it is important for Caltrans to hear positive comments – this is an important component of our city bicycle plan!
