John Murphy became a member of the SCBC in 2013 when his family moved up from San Francisco, where he was an active member of the San Francisco Coalition for 10 years. For the past 10 years, bicycling has been his primary form of transportation; he and his wife share one car. John rides his bike and uses public transit as much as possible, including riding on the tandem back from his son’s school. He also cycles recreationally, giving him a perspective on the needs of a wide range of cyclists.
John is Treasurer of the Coalition, and has been involved in reviewing and overhauling of our budgeting procedures. His goal is to really drive the growth of the organization, increasing membership and further stabilizing the financial position of the organization.
