60 Schools Enroll in 2017-18 Safe Routes to School Program

This August, our Safe Routes to School staff has been busy planning & coordinating the launch of our 2017-18 SRTS program. Schools enrolled in the program are eligible to receive a variety of services and resources to encourage active and alternative transportation to/from school, including bicycle/pedestrian safety training, guidance to implement ongoing “Walk & Roll to School Days,” and more. Schools must enroll by August 25th to receive services. All the  schools enrolled so far will participate in our annual “launch” event, International Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 4th.  We’ll need help distributing incentive/poster goody bags to participating schools this September, so please keep your eyes out for a call for volunteer bag distributors!
