New Solution for Joe Rodota Trail

On February 20 the Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution declaring a state of crisis on the Joe Rodota Trail and creating two managed campsites on County-owned property to which the homeless folks camping there can move.

Other jurisdictions, such as the City of Santa Rosa, have successfully created such solutions but the County had been resistant until this time.

We are hopeful that this may slow the cycle that has repeated multiple times over the past few years of encampments being cleared only to reappear, causing many potential cyclists and pedestrians to avoid the trail.
