Community Rides
We’re defining a “community ride” as a ride open to anyone, with no membership or registration required and no fees to participate. It’s always a good idea to contact the organizers before your first ride as these details change frequently.
- Taco Tuesday meets at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday in Santa Rosa. About 8 miles with dinner at the Mitote Food Park in Roseland and ice cream at the end. Contact Juan Chavez.
- Hella Joy Ride is a monthly mountain bike ride for women in Annadel State Park.
- First Friday at Five meets at 5 p.m. the first Friday of each month at Walnut Park in Petaluma. Contact Safe Streets Petaluma.
- BikePetaluma often holds community rides.
- Move! Healdsburg holds regular community rides.
- Healdsburg Running Company occasionally holds a Critical Mass bike ride.
- Sunday Funday rides meet at 10 am on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at Keiser Park in Windsor.
- Bike Night rides are the first Wednesday of the month. Join the Facebook group.
- Sonoma County Bike Party rides the last Friday of the month.

- Annadel Composite & Annadel Devo: mountain bike teams for junior high and high school kids whose schools don’t have a team.
- Blue-Tailed Skinks Kids Mountain Bike Club: gets kids on balance bikes through 5th grade out on the trails.
- Gianni Cycling Association: West County mountain biking club that also engages in trail building and maintenance.
- NorCal Interscholastic Cycling League: runs high school mountain bike teams and races, camps, and trail work.
- Petaluma Composite & Petaluma Devo: mountain bike teams for junior high and high school kids whose schools don’t have a team.
- Petaluma Cycling Club: hosts rides in the southern part of the county.
- Positive Mens Support Cycling Club: hosts weekly rides and lunches.
- Red Peloton: a race and cycling club in Sonoma County that promotes cycling in all forms.
- Santa Rosa Cycling Club: hosts various rides and events, big and small!
Advocacy Groups
- Bike Sebastopol: strives to create a town where people of all ages and abilities can safely enjoy bicycling.
- Bikeable Santa Rosa: volunteer group of local residents working for a safe and low-stress bicycle network connecting all neighborhoods in Santa Rosa.
- BikePetaluma: hosts monthly family rides and advocates for bike-friendly policy in Petaluma.
- Move! Healdsburg: advocates for bike- and pedestrian-friendly transportation and holds monthly community rides.
- Safe Streets Petaluma: advocates for safe, healthy and affordable mobility for all.
Other Nonprofits
- Community Bikes: teaches folks how to fix their bikes, and sells refurbished used bikes. Donate your used bikes here.
- Operation Bicycle: a community bike shop in Sonoma run by staff, volunteers and teens who provide sales, maintenance and repair services for the general public.
- Redwood Trails Alliance: promotes mountain biking, and builds and maintains local trails.
- VeloMed: medical professionals who provide volunteer riding medical support for organized bicycle rides
- Wine Country Trykes: nonprofit providing free adaptive tricycles to children and adults with mobility challenges
