We have joined 1% for the Planet as an environmental partner! This partnership is intended to advance our impact as well as involve more businesses in the environmental movement.
1% for the Planet is an accountability partner for businesses that are ready to reject business as usual and give back to environmental partners making a difference around the globe. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental partners to date.
“The intent of 1% for the Planet is to help fund these diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems,” wrote co-founder Yvon Chouinard.
Business members of 1% for the Planet commit to donating 1% of their annual revenues to environmental members. They must verify their donations by submitting donation acknowledgement letter to 1% for the Planet. They are then able to use the 1% for the Planet logo in their marketing to demonstrate their commitment to the environment.
Local businesses who are members of 1% for the Planet include BloodRoot Wines, Galen’s Way Botanicals, Solful, Refill Mercantile, and Sonoma Restorations.
