At Roseland Village on Saturday, September 24, the SCBC bike education staff and volunteers braved blistering heat to provide bicycle skill/safety education to an incredible 205 children and 136 adults at the 3rd Annual CHP Health and Safety Fair. Law enforcement and service agencies provided emergency vehicles and booths , canine demonstrations, car seat fittings, and more. SCBC’s bike rodeo featured free helmets, free bike repairs, donated by The Bike Peddler/NorCal Bike Sport. The rodeo featured a huge skills course where kids (and a few adults) learned the basics of safe bicycling. A fix-a-flat station showed dozens of participants how to fix-a-flat! We’re super grateful to our fabulous Coalition volunteers who helped make such a busy event run so smoothly – Gary Weeks, Gary Helfrich, Donna Denavan-Lynch, Juan Hernandez, Gustavo Vasquez, Les Haus, Nancy Cummings, and Silvia Martinez-Palacios. We could not have done it without you all! To view the gallery of photos taken by Gustavo Vasquez, click here.
