Please be aware that Sonoma County Regional Parks has closed the western section of the Joe Rodota Trail from the railroad trestle bridge to the connection with Morris Street in Sebastopol to make needed repairs to the bridge and approaches. The trail will remain closed until work is completed on October 14th.
The improvements include narrowing the bridge, which is more than 50 years old; replacing deck and support beams, railings and part of a retaining wall; and installing new asphalt approaches. The repairs will reinforce this trail section for the next several decades of use.
The trail east of the bridge remains open during construction, but there will not be any access through the construction area to Sebastopol. Closure notices and alternate route signs have been placed along the trail (View detour map).
For those detouring via Highway 12, please note that there are no shoulders currently on the Hwy 12 bridge at the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Please proceed with caution.
