To Sebastopol and Back from Wright Charter School

Our Safe Routes to School instructors have been collaborating with the Wright School District to offer a Family Bike Ride for seven years! This spring, SRTS led a ride from Wright Charter School to Sebastopol and back. The route followed the Joe Rodota Trail and was just under 8 miles round trip.

Staff and families from the three schools in the district — Robert L Stevens, JX Wilson and Wright Charter — joined the ride. There were about 30 riders total, ranging in ages from 2 to 65, including a mom who had just learned how to ride the previous week!

We met in the morning, checked everyone’s bikes and went over some safe riding tips and then headed out to Sebastopol. Our group stretched out along the Rodota, greeting fellow walkers and bicyclists, and marveling at the wildlife and wildflowers we saw along the way. It was a wonderful way to experience together the early days of spring!
