This September, our Safe Routes to School Crew will be holding Bike Safety/Skill Rodeos at TWO free community events! On Saturday, September 9th, we’ll be at the California Highway Patrol’s Health and Safety Fair in Roseland Village, 555 Sebastopol Road, from 11am-3pm. In addition to our bike skill/safety course, we will be distributing free helmets (while supplies last). The event also includes car seat check-ups (by appointment), canine and CPR demonstrations, emergency vehicles, a bike raffle, and free bike checks by NorCal/Bike Peddler. Then, on September 23rd, we’ll be at the Healdsburg Kiwanis Club’s Health and Safety Fair at the Healdsburg Community Center (1557 Healdsburg Ave) from 10am-1pm. Free helmets will also be distributed, and Spoke Folk Cyclery will be on hand to provide free bicycle checks/minor repairs. Other activities include the Bookmobile of Sonoma County, distracted driving virtual reality simulations, a bike raffle, and a free taco lunch! Bring your bikes and your kids and have fun while getting educated! For more information, contact saferoutes@bikesonoma.org
