Well, no, SCBC didn’t exactly acquire a vehicle….BUT we just received the proceeds from our first vehicle donation!
You’ve probably heard or seen ads from other nonprofits, inviting you to support them by donating a used car. We’ve partnered with Car Donation Services to make it easy for our supporters to contribute in this way.
You’ll be happy to know that Car Donation Services makes it easy both for us and the donor. We did a small amount of paperwork to get the service set up. When a donor contacts them with a vehicle to donate, they arrange to pick up the car, take it to their facility in Martinez, make any necessary repairs, and sell it on their lot. After deducting their costs and commission, they send us a check and the donor a tax receipt. Easy peasy! They even take boats, motorcycles, trucks, vans, and some RVs.
