We Won…
State Proposition 6, which would have cut funding for many important transportation projects (including bike/ped projects and public transit), was soundly defeated! Sonoma County Proposition M passed, securing ongoing funding for maintenance and trail-building in our local parks.
We’re Still Fighting For…
Despite overwhelming public support (including Santa Rosa City Council and Press Democrat editorial board) for an at-grade bike/pedestrian crossing at Jennings Avenue, SMART’s General Manager continues to oppose it. Many citizens have spoken out during public comment at SMART Board meetings, but the Board itself has not put the issue on their agenda for discussion and/or action. Click here to email Board Chair Deborah Fudge, requesting they do so. (Feel free to customize the text!)
Last Chance to Comment
We attended the last public open house on Santa Rosa’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan. SCBC staff and members have had a lot of input into the plan, and it shows! You can read the entire plan online and December 20 is the last day to make comments. The plan is tentatively scheduled to go before the Planning Commission on February 14 and the city council March 12.
