Win this bike…while supporting SCBC!

SCBC is launching a three-month peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, with this bike as the Grand Prize. (Thank you, Colin at Pedego Santa Rosa!)

What IS peer-to-peer fundraising? (also known as social fundraising)

  • Have you ever participated in a fundraising bike ride, footrace, walkathon, etc. or donated to someone else who has?
  • Have you ever purchased Girl Scout Cookies, raffle tickets, magazines, light bulbs, etc. from your friends’ kids?
  • Have you ever contributed to someone’s birthday fundraiser on Facebook or other social media?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you have participated in peer-to-peer fundraising! This term applies to fundraising activities that are NOT run by professionals, staff members, or board members of an organization, but by its members and supporters. It’s not only a way to raise money, but to expand our outreach beyond those who already know about us.

The campaign started June 4 and will run through Labor Day. The person who raises the most will win the bike.  Our goal is to raise $10,000. (We have about 800 members. If 100 members each raised $100, that would meet our goal. That’s $20 each from just five of your friends, family, or colleagues!)

Sixteen members have already signed up and created fundraising pages – you can view them and make a donation here. The thermometer below shows our progress in this campaign.

How do I sign up?

Click on this link and login to your SCBC membership account. (We also have a two-page “cheat sheet” you can download here to help you get started.) If you get stuck, email or give us a call.

Thank you for helping us reach more people with our message and make Sonoma County the best place to ride a bike!
