Sonoma County is moving forward with a long-awaited update to its Active Transportation Plan, which will guide improvements to the county’s bicycle and pedestrian network and help prioritize projects and programs in individual cities. Public input is crucial to this process! Consultants working on the plan will present the project at a series of upcoming meetings.
SCBC will be at these meetings, and we encourage local residents to attend and share their ideas on how to make cycling safe and accessible for riders of all ages and abilities.
Wednesday, Sept 6: Bikes as Transport (public program hosted by the Rahus Institute), 7 p.m., Sebastopol Grange
Tuesday, Sept 12: Sebastopol Planning Commission, 6 p.m., Sebastopol Youth Annex
Tuesday, Sept 19: Healdsburg Active Transportation Advisory Committee, 6 p.m., Healdsburg Community Center
Thursday, Sept 21: Sonoma Planning Commission, 6 p.m., City Council Chambers
Also on Sept 21, the Santa Rosa Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board will host a visioning session for its Active Transportation Plan at 4 p.m., 35 Stony Point Road. Santa Rosa is in the process of drafting its own plan, as are Petaluma and Windsor.
Stay tuned for more information on meetings in Cotati, Rohnert Park, Cloverdale and unincorporated areas of the county, which are tentatively scheduled for this fall.
