Gold Level Award from League of American Bicyclists

This week, the League of American Bicyclists recognized us with a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award and coLAB coworking space with a Bronze Level BFB award. We join four other businesses in Sonoma County (Sutter Hospital, Sonoma Clean Power, Sonoma County Transportation & Climate Authority, and the City of Santa Rosa) in the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.

“Bikes are a vehicle for connection, friendship, and community,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “Bicycle Friendly Businesses highlight how investing in biking creates momentum for positive change—building safer, healthier communities and strengthening the networks that bring people together.”

“This is the first time we’ve applied for the award and are pleased to receive a Gold ranking,” notes SCBC executive director Eris Weaver. “We are happy to advise other local businesses on ways to make your location more bike-friendly as well as assist them in completing the application. (The next application period is now open and closes October 30th.) Sonoma County residents care about climate change, health and well-being; making your location more bike-friendly will improve both your business and the greater community.”

There are a total of 1,244 current BFBs nationwide, including everything from government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, museums, hospitality establishments, bike shops, and other employers, all united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to both customers and employees who bike. The Bicycle Friendly Business award recognizes an organization’s contributions in shifting up and accelerating the movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.
